No matter what I offer to teach, what I put on my website or what is on my blog, I am constantly being shaken down for more of my awesome recipes.
Ok most of you know I prefer to teach technique, techniques that will enable you to create whatever recipe you want. And I thought that would satisfy your appetite.

“Live Raw Recipe Prep Marathon”

The Idea is for Friday eve, Saturday and Sunday I will be preparing dishes one after another non-stop, back to back. Come with your pen, notepad, camera and your appetite. Watch and eat everything, dish after dish.
I will cover dozens of recipes from blended to marinated, wrapped, stuffed, rolled, dehydrated --- appetizers, desserts, entrees, cakes, breads, snacks, salads, breakfast, lunch, dinner - Thai, Indian, Mexican, Spanish, Brazilian, Caribbean, who knows what could happen, tell if I am going too fast.  

The best part is --- you get to see how I work, learn my tricks, shortcuts, techniques as well as using scraps and leftovers, re purposing recipes, playing with variations, creating ethnic styles, cooked to raw conversions and more.
If you prepare raw foods --- this is certainly a chance of a lifetime.
A recipe book can be a great book but to see it all happen right there in front of your eyes, then tasting it fresh, just made and as the chef intended, is a whole other thing.

Day 3) Sunday June 21st  12pm – 5pm

Training Course

I will be conducting a 3 day starters raw prep course and a 5 day advanced raw prep courses starting July 15th.

July 15 - 17th
The three day course will cover
everything from digestion to basic food prep to advanced food prep covering dozens of recipes and prep techniques.
July 15th - 19th
The 5 day course
will then continue through the weekend with more recipes, techniques, exploring ethnic flavors, cooked to raw tricks, variations and more. The students in the 5 day training will also have more hands on during the classes and will also be presented with a course completion certificate.
I normally do these classes for $1,200.00 3 day and $1,400.00 for the 5 day but if you register before Monday June 8th I will give them to you for much less.
These are great classes and a ton of work for me and I may wished I charged more for them later but get me while I am delirious and pay only $800.00 for the 3 day and $1,000.00 for the 5 day!

Recipe Of The Month

Blood Orange in Strawberry Cashew Cream

Put the following in the blender and blend till smooth and creamy:
1 cup cashew
1/4 cup water
2 tbsp raw honey
2 tsp vanilla Flavor
1/2 tsp sea salt
3 med strawberries
transfer to a mixing bowl and add 1 cup chopped strawberries.
Serve in a chilled dish with blood orange wedges.

Embrace the New
Well spring has sprung and life is blossoming. With the new summer here so comes the produce. Change in season also rewards us with a change at the produce counter. “Local grown” starts to show up, and other goodies you haven’t seen in a while or maybe have never seen before at all.
So what does it taste like? Get one --- try it, Google it, look up recipes and see how its eaten… There is always a lot to explore when it comes to food. Say you bought a Mangosteen for the first time. So you Google a recipe for Mangosteen and found one you like that is from Indonesia. Now you are turned on to Indonesian foods. You just discovered a whole new area to explore. You see how this works in life. You never know what you will find, who is sitting next to you or what is down that street if we don’t look. New things lead to other new things!

News On The Forefront

Federal Assistance Available for Farmers Making Transition to Organic

In 2008, the Organic Consumers Association's supporters sent nearly 100,000 emails to Congress urging our leaders to support organic farming in the 2008 Farm Bill. In fulfilling a portion of our requests, Congress approved funding for farmers needing financial and technical assistance to make the transition from conventional farming to organic. The USDA has announced a three week sign-up period for this assistance beginning May 11. For our farmer readers who would like to go organic, now is the time.

New Survey Finds a Number of 'Organic' Soy Food Brands Importing Beans from China --- "Silk" Soy Milk Abandons Organic Ingredients Altogether

"Health conscious shoppers should no longer associate Silk with organic, and should seek the green USDA Certified Organic seal when purchasing soy products... The good news in this report is that consumers can easily find, normally without paying any premium, organic soy foods that truly meet their expectations."

Source: Charlotte Vallaeys, a researcher at Cornucopia Institute and the primary author of a new report that ranks mainstream soy brands based on how much they source their beans from U.S. Farmers.
