Don't Be Afraid To Make Mistakes
We often fail to do things because we are afraid that if it does not turn out the way we want or “the way it was supposed to” then all is lost or that we somehow failed. This can produce feelings of disappointment, frustration, inadequacy, surrender or even destitute.
Not moving forward on our desires or dream creates a stagnant routine in our life and in time can almost feel like a trap. We are never truly trapped; we are merely captive of our own mind. That is to say that the thoughts we have about something has created a barrier between what is possible and what we think is possible for us. This barrier is made up of circumstances or conditions that are only true to the story in our mind surrounding that something.
Everything is a challenge the first time; everything is a mystery until we have experienced it ourselves. Often things that seamed huge, extreme or even impossible, turned out to be not such a big deal after all once we experienced them.
Nothing is truly a mistake, everything happens to us just at the time we are meant to experience them. Look, we all have made mistakes, God knows I have made mine; yours may seem huge and unbelievable to an observer while in your reality it was completely understandable, even necessary to your present understanding, situation or circumstances.
There are no mistakes but simply steps in our own personal journey. We all have questions, desires, wants, needs and dreams; none of which we be unveiled or realized if we don’t take a chance, take action and explore them.
It is detrimental to your own journey whether it is in your personal relationships, carrier or in the kitchen that you jump in and just start. Any result that may seem like a mistake is just more knowledge for you to apply to do it better next time. As long as we learn from our outcome and make adjustment in our understanding we are on the right path. Even the biggest mistake must be forgiven as it is just lessons to be incorporated into our future actions and understanding.
Be more afraid of stagnant routine than mistakes in your forward motion. Your future is not in what you don’t do but in what you are willing to sacrifice to get to where you are not now.
A new bill, the "Pandemic Response Bill," S. 2028, has passed the Massachusetts state Senate and is now awaiting approval in the House. This bill suspends virtually all Constitutional rights of Massachusetts citizens and sets fines up to $1,000 per day for anyone "suspected" of being infected with swine flu who refuses to submit to "decontaminations," vaccines or quarantines, or who won't follow other orders by state-licensed law enforcement or medical personnel.
From the start of George Bush's (and now Obama's) wars for oil and Empire in Iraq and Afghanistan, OCA has been tracking the machinations of Monsanto, a well-known war profiteer (Agent Orange in Vietnam and currently massive Roundup spraying in Colombia), to take advantage of the current occupations.
Monsanto's moves include pushing the toxic herbicide, glyphosate (Monsanto's Roundup herbicide), for poppy eradication in Afghanistan, promoting GMO seeds, and forcing Iraq to allow the monopoly patenting of plants and seeds--essentially preventing farmers from saving and exchanging traditional heirloom seed varieties.
Monsanto's latest business opportunity in the US's occupied territories has been created by the National Guard's "Agri-Business Development Teams." The Missouri National Guard, which has maintained Agri-Business Development Teams in Nangarhar Province in Afghanistan since fall 2007, hosted Safi Mohammed Hussein, agriculture director of Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, on a recent visit to Missouri. While in St. Louis, Safi toured the headquarters of biotech giant Monsanto.
Eliminating Labeling Fraud in Organic Personal Care Products
A committee of the USDA National Organic Standards Board wants to "Solve the Problem of Mislabeled Organic Personal Care." The Organic Consumers Association is very encouraged by the committee's proposal to make sure that any use of the word "organic" on a personal care product is backed up by third-party certification to USDA standards for products that are "USDA Organic" or "Made With Organic Ingredients."
This is what OCA's Coming Clean campaign has been pushing the USDA to do for the last 5 years. Unfortunately, the USDA has been hostile to the idea and even USDA Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan, an advocate for organic agriculture, has resisted consumer pressure on this issue. So, the long struggle for USDA enforcement of organic standards in personal care continues. The first step is getting the full NOSB to adopt the committee recommendation. The deadline for sending comments to the NOSB in advance of their November 3-5 meeting is October 19, 2009. Please take action today.
Why You Want to Avoid ANY Kind of Metal in Your Mouth
Titanium has the potential to induce hypersensitivity as well as other immunological dysfunctions.
One study investigated 56 patients who developed severe health problems after receiving titanium-based dental implants. These medical problems included muscle, joint, and nerve pain; chronic fatigue syndrome; neurological problems; depression; and skin inflammation.
Removal of the implants resulted in a dramatic improvement in the patients’ symptoms, as well as a decrease in many patients’ sensitivity to titanium
A collaborative team of international EMF activists has released a report detailing eleven design flaws of the 13-country, Telecom-funded Interphone study.
The exposé discusses research on cell phones and brain tumors, concluding that:
There is a risk of brain tumors from cell phone use
Telecom funded studies underestimate the risk of brain tumors
Children have larger risks than adults for brain tumors
The Interphone study, begun in 1999, was intended to determine the risks of brain tumors, but its full publication has been held up for years. Components of this study published to date reveal what the authors call a ‘systemic-skew’, greatly underestimating brain tumor risk.
The design flaws include categorizing subjects who used portable phones (which emit the same microwave radiation as cell phones,) as ‘unexposed’; exclusion of many types of brain tumors; exclusion of people who had died, or were too ill to be interviewed as a consequence of their brain tumor; and exclusion of children and young adults, who are more vulnerable.
Ronald B. Herberman, MD, Director Emeritus of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute has stated,
“Based on substantial evidence, especially from industry-independent studies that long term exposure to radiofrequency radiation may lead to increased risk for brain tumors, I issued a precautionary advisory last year to faculty and staff of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.
Since then, my particular concern about exposure of children to radiofrequency has been supported by a report from Dr. Lennart Hardell. Some of my scientific colleagues have expressed skepticism about the reported biological effects, especially DNA0A damage by radiofequency radiation, because of the absence of a demonstrated underlying molecular mechanism.
However, based on the precautionary principle, I believe it is more prudent to take seriously the reports by multiple investigators that radiofrequency can damage DNA and increase the risk for brain tumors, and for industry-independent agencies to provide needed funding for detailed research to ascertain the molecular basis for such effects.”
Lloyd Morgan, lead author and member of the Bioelectromagnetics Society says,
“Exposure to cell phone radiation is the largest human health experiment ever undertaken, without informed consent, and has some 4 billion participants enrolled.
Science has shown increased risk of brain tumors from use of cell phones, as well as increased risk of eye cancer, salivary gland tumors, testicular cancer, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and leukemia.
Researchers have found that individuals with a high daily intake of vegetables and fruits also demonstrate higher cognitive performance. Please notice that vegetables are mentioned first because they are FAR more important than fruits.
Subjects with a high intake (about 400 grams per day) of fruits and vegetables had higher antioxidant levels, lower indicators of free radical-induced damage, and better cognitive performance.
The findings were independent of age, gender, body mass index, and level of education. Further studies are planned that will include larger subject cohorts, patients with Alzheimer's disease, and patients with mild cognitive impairment.
