New Years Resolution Cleansing

For past edition of the Tip Of the Week visit my archive

So it’s the New Year and as every year the resolutions come with enthusiasm but then fade by the end of the month. What I have found in making change is to do a fast to shed the addiction, habit eating cycles and other roadblock to change. Many are unconscious and other too familiar. I had wanted for years to put together an online guided fasting program. So as new years approached this year I began to put together my first and launch it in Jan; just in time for resolutions to start to wane.  I have been working hard on putting together an amazing Juice Fast program called fast and Juicy the 5 day Feast. At the same time I have been conducting a series of Teleseminars on fasting all while on a fast myself. So this week I wanted to share with some of what I have been sustaining on for my fast.

First Juices:
I have been going to the Organic market and grabbing what ever looks good. It is important to get produce that is as ripe as possible

and yet fresh. Mature plants have much more nutrients and proper PH, electrolytes, sugars, fats, oils and life force energy among other important factors. One great surprise and very successful juice was with chard.
1 cucumber
3 celery stalks
4 leafs red chard
1 bell pepper
1 pear
1” chunk ginger
Juice of ½ lemon

The chard produced a warm smooth flavor combined with the bell pepper gave the juice a kina of savory quality like gazpacho but darker and much smoother. The lemon and ginger is just enough to perk up the bitter from the greens and made it taste mush sweeter.

Another tasty surprise was with Broccoli:
2 stalks broccoli
3 red radishes
1 cucumber
4 stalks celery
1 bell pepper
1 apple
Juice of ½ lemon

These of course were the more adventurous supplementing my basic mainstay which is my

cucumber kale
1 cucumber
2 celery
3 leafs curly kale
1 apple or pear
Ginger
And lemon
Sometimes I add bell pepper, spinach or swap lemon wit lime.

I also broke down and had a couple of smoothies and fruit juices.

The smoothie to live for was durian coconut
water  from 1 Thai young coconut and ½ of the meat from in the coconut.
1 cup durian

Another amazing and simple smoothie is a strawberry cashew
10 oz water
½ cup cashews
6 fresh strawberries
1tsp vanilla flavoring
1/8 tsp sea salt

And the fruit juice that rocked the house was tropical exotica
4 star fruit
2 asian pear
2 pink oranges
1 lime
The point here is there is so much out there to explore to keep it fun and exciting.

Till Next Week
